Dr. Probir Kumar Bhowmik is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. He earned his PhD in Accounting and Finance from the Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), China, where he was recognized as an Outstanding PhD Student for his academic excellence and research contributions.

His research interests include bank risk, corporate governance, fintech, ESG, financial inclusion, green banking, business economics, monetary economics, and financial economics, with a particular emphasis on emerging economies and the SAARC region. He has published extensively in internationally reputable SSCI, Scopus, and Web of Science-indexed journals and actively contributes to scholarly research in accounting, finance, and economics.

Dr. Bhowmik serves as a reviewer for several leading international journals published by Springer, Elsevier, Emerald, Wiley, and Taylor & Francis. Before joining academia, he worked as a Credit Analyst at IDLC Finance Limited, bringing practical financial-sector experience to his teaching and research.

He is a Founder Member of the Bangladesh Business Research Foundation (BBRF) and a Life Member of the Bangladesh Accounting Association (BAA). Dr. Bhowmik has strong expertise in econometric modelling, quantitative research methods, and empirical financial analysis.
