Short Biography:
Dr. Shaila Haque is a dedicated researcher in neuroscience and molecular biology, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. She earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Sheffield, UK. Her doctoral work focused on profiling somatic, population, and phenotypic heterogeneity in genetic causes of ALS/MND, reflecting her deep engagement with neurodegenerative disease research.
Dr. Haque’s academic foundation includes an MS and BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Dhaka. Over the past decade, she has held research and teaching positions at several esteemed institutions and actively led multiple projects related to genetic disorders, environmental biotechnology, and molecular diagnostics. She has published widely in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work at national and international conferences, including ENCALS and the Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologists.
Her skill set spans advanced molecular and cell biology techniques, including ICC, qRT-PCR, cloning, and high-content imaging, alongside bioinformatics tools for genomics and drug target prediction. Dr. Haque is particularly interested in postdoctoral research opportunities focusing on neuroscience, cellular reprogramming, functional genomics, and genetic regulation of disease phenotypes.
With a strong publication record, international training, and a passion for translational research, Dr. Haque aims to contribute to impactful scientific advancements in understanding and treating neurological and genetic disorders.
