Dr. Tania Islam is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. She received her Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Kyungpook National University, South Korea.

Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, Natural Language Processing, Explainable AI, Healthcare Informatics, Biomedical AI, Molecular Communication, and Targeted Drug Delivery. Her research particularly focuses on developing AI-driven solutions for healthcare applications, including autism spectrum disorder detection, medical image analysis, data privacy, and intelligent diagnostic systems.

Dr. Islam has published research in internationally recognized journals such as IEEE Access, Healthcare Analytics, Engineering Reports, Natural Language Processing Journal, and the Journal of Perinatal Medicine. She has also served as Principal Investigator on research projects funded by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh, and the University of Barishal.

Alongside her research, she teaches courses in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and Algorithms, and supervises undergraduate research in AI, Computer Vision, Medical Image Analysis, NLP, and Healthcare Informatics. She is a recipient of several academic honors, including the Prime Minister Gold Medal Award, Chancellor Gold Medal Award, BK21 Scholarship, KINGS Scholarship, and University Grants Commission Scholarship.
