Short Biography:
Dr. Samiran Roy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Barishal, Bangladesh. He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees in Applied Physics, Electronics and Communication Engineering at the University of Dhaka. He received his Ph.D. in Information Display from Kyung Hee University, South Korea, in August 2026, where his doctoral research focused on spray-pyrolyzed high-k dielectric materials for low-power display and neuromorphic computing applications under the supervision of Prof. Jin Jang.
His research expertise covers semiconductor materials and device fabrication, oxide thin-film transistors (TFTs), high-k and ferroelectric dielectrics, ferroelectric memory, neuromorphic devices, and solution-processed electronics. He has hands-on experience in semiconductor fabrication in cleanroom environments, including thin-film deposition, photolithography, sputtering, PECVD, thermal evaporation, spray pyrolysis, thermal processing, and device integration. He is also experienced in advanced materials and electrical characterization techniques, including XPS, GI-XRD, XRR, AFM, SEM/TEM, semiconductor parameter analysis, and capacitance measurements. His research focuses on developing functional oxide materials and advanced electronic devices for next-generation display, memory, flexible electronics, and low-power computing technologies. He has published research articles in international journals including ACS Applied Electronic Materials, Applied Surface Science, and Advanced Materials Technologies and has participated in international scientific conferences and research activities in Japan and the United States. His current interests also include interface engineering, defect passivation, computational materials science, and DFT-based materials modeling.
